For adjustable positioning, O-ring and back-up washer should be in proper position on non threaded section nearest to locknut. Lubrification of O-ring is recommended.

Screw fitting by hand into straight thread port until back-up washer contacts face of port.

To position fitting, unscrew up to one full turn then hold fitting in desired position and tighten locknut until back-up washer contacts face of port and force O-ring within port cavity.
